MATRIARCHS is comprised of current and ex members of the bands HoodsRuckus, and The Faceless, and boast a dirty, street-style mixture of avant-garde heavy metal, punk and hardcore elements. Take a listen to a few more tracks via the band’s ReverbNation page here: reverbnation.com/matriarchs.

MATRIARCHS will be performing at two local events this month, including on April 12, 2015 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA with Bane, and on April 25, 2015 at Spring Breakdown Music Festival with Otep, As Blood Runs Black, Ill Nino and more at Pico Rivera Sports Arena Campground.

After cutting their teeth on the local hardcore scenes of Los Angeles, New York, France, and Northern California, founding guitarists Ben Levi and vocalist Richard Barthel formed MATRIARCHS on the idea that they could fuse together the visual aesthetic and presentation of more thought provoking heavy acts like Tool or Converge with the sonic ferocity and energy of hardcore. With thought provoking lyrics, heavy metal precision and technicality and the energy and ferocity of their predecessors (and of course, breakdowns), MATRIARCHS brings a unique brand of hardcore-punk influenced metal.
